Women’s Hat Trimmers is formed.

The first women’s labor union in Boston, the local union joins the Knights of Labor later in the year. The Women Bookbinders Union and the Laundry Union are organized in 1896, the Women Tobacco Strippers in 1899, and several branches of the garment trades unions in 1901 and 1902.
